New archive storage offering and price update

Research Computing will deploy a new archive storage tier in fall 2026. Also, research group storage will not increase in price for calendar year 2027.

Archive storage

RCC will deploy archive storage in fall 2026. This new tier of storage will serve as archive for research data that must be retained long-term. The new archive storage will keep redundant copies of all data, similar to research group storage. MCW investigators will pay an annual fee of $50/TB/year. We will use the same proration and renewal schedule as research group storage.

Research group storage fee update

RCC has decided to hold the fee for research group storage in calendar year 2027 at $100/TB/year.

2025 - $80/TB/year
2026 - $100/TB/year
2027 - $120$100/TB/year
